We provide opportunities, support, and funding to allow vets and vet nurses to volunteer for projects that seek to enhance equine welfare both locally and globally, in partnership with other organisations.

BEVA members who are qualified vets and nurses are welcome to apply for opportunities. Some projects require specific experience (for example teaching or reproduction experience) or a particular skill (for example speak a language).

A need to be open to other cultures and environments and be prepared to only have access to limited resources. By their nature some projects are in regions with poor resources and challenging welfare circumstances.

The BEVA Trust partners are usually universities or welfare charities and include GHDT, MAWO, BHS, WHW, ACE Egypt, American Fondouk and the Estonian University of Life Sciences.

Yes. Experience from previous volunteers has demonstrated that these opportunities provide very valuable CPD.

Yes. We are always looking for new projects. Projects should be safe, meet an existing need for veterinary support to welfare organisations, deliver a meaningfully positive impact to horse welfare, either directly or indirectly and be practical financially. Overseas projects will need to have the support of a respected local partner organistation.
